2. Eligibility Criteria for Forest Apprentice Jobs
The eligibility criteria for Forest Apprentice posts in Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) are as follows…
- Educational qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or its equivalent (Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Applications, Computer Science, Engineering (All Engineering subjects including Agricultural Engineering), Environmental Science, Geology, Horticulture, Marine Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Wildlife biology, Zoology).
- Adequate knowledge in Tamil.
- Age Limit: 18-30 years (as on 01/ 04/2018). Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/ BC candidates.
- Physical Tests/ Standards can be seen in the recruitment notification.

4. Selection Process, Exam pattern and Syllabus of Forest Apprentice
The selection process of Forest Apprentice will comprise of
- Written Examination
- Physical Test (Walking Test- 25 kms in four hrs by male and 16 kms in four hrs by female) and
- Oral Test.
Written Exam Pattern and Syllabus: There will be three papers:
- Paper-I: Optional Subject – 1 (Degree Std.): 200 Questions, 300 marks, 3 hours duration
- Paper-II: Optional Subject – 2 (Degree Std.): 200 Questions, 300 marks, 3 hours duration
- Paper-III: Compulsory Subject- General Studies (Degree Std.) (150 Questions)
Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (50 Questions), 300 marks, 3 hours duration - Interview: 120 marks.
