2. Selection Process, Exam pattern and Syllabus
The selection process of SI & Lady SI at West Bengal Police will comprise of
- Preliminary Written Test (Full Marks – 200)
- Physical Measurement Test-
- SI (Unarmed): Height- 167 cm; Weight- 56 kg; Chest 79 cm (+5 cm expansion)
- SI (Armed): Height- 173 cm; Weight- 60 kg; Chest 86 cm (+5 cm expansion)
- Lady SI (Unarmed): Height- 160 cm; Weight- 48 kg
- Physical Efficiency Test-
- Constable- 800 meters run 3 minutes
- Lady SI- 400 meters run 2 minutes
- Final Written Examination (Full Marks – 200)
- Personality Test: (Full Marks – 30)
Written Exam Pattern/ Scheme of Examination:
Pre Exam-
100 MCQs carrying 2 mark each; 90 minutes duration-
- General Studies: 100 Marks
- Logical & Analytical reasoning: 50 Marks
- Arithmetic: 50 Marks
- Negative marking- 1/4th.
Main Exam- Conventional type of questions-
- Paper-I : General Studies and Arithmetic for 100 marks (50 marks for General Studies, and 25 marks for Logical & Analytical reasoning and 25 marks for Arithmetic) of 2 (two) hours duration.
- Paper-II : English of 50 marks of 1 (one) hour duration.
- Paper-III : Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali of 50 marks of 1 (one) hour duration
