2. Selection Process, Exam pattern and Syllabus
The selection process of Constable & Lady Constable at WB Police will comprise of
- Preliminary Written Test (Full Marks – 100)
- Physical Measurement Test-
- Male- 167 (Height (Barefoot) (in cm.)), 58 Weight (in kg.), 78 cm Chest (without expansion), 83 cm Chest (with expansion – 5 cm)
- Female- 160 (Height (Barefoot) (in cm.)), 49 Weight (in kg.)
- Physical Efficiency Test-
- Constable- 1600 (sixteen hundred) meters run in 6 (six) minutes 30 (thirty) seconds
- Lady Constable- 800 (eight hundred) meters run 4 (four) minutes
- Final Written Examination (Full Marks – 85)
Written Exam Pattern/ Scheme of Examination:
Pre Exam-
100 MCQs carrying 01 (one) mark each; 1 hours duration-
- General Awareness and General Knowledge : 50 Marks
- Elementary Mathematics (Madhyamik standard) : 30 Marks
- Reasoning : 20 Marks
- Negative marking- 1/4th.
Main Exam-
85 MCQs carrying 01 (one) mark each; 1 hours duration-
- General Awareness and General Knowledge – 25 Marks
- English – 25 Marks
- Elementary Mathematics (Madhyamik standard) – 20 Marks
- Reasoning and Logical Analysis – 15 Marks
- Negative marking- 1/4th.
